Eye Doctors and 18 month check ups

So yesterday and today have been busy days with plenty of doctors visits so it seems... Yesterday Macie and I had our annual eye doctor appointments. Mine was pretty uneventful, the usual prescription change and contact order. Macie's on the other hand was a bit discouraging to say the least. The doc found that her brain is starting to ignore her left eye completely so she is barely using it which is NOT good. When she started wearing glasses in Kindergarten he was able to get her to see 20/40 with her glasses on out of her left eye, now he said he is doing good to get her to see 20/70 out of her left eye, YIKES!! Apparently her brain is totally ignoring the left eye and is starting to act like it doesn't even exist. He referred us to a pediatric optometrist to discuss correcting this problem as quickly as possible so that it doesn't become any worse. He suggested that the specialist will do some "vision therapy" with Macie to get her brain to start recognizing her left eye again so we will see next Wednesday what they decide to do for her.

Moving on to the other daughter Addaline... she had her well child 18 month check up today and all is well with her. She weighed a whopping 24 lbs 8 oz and is in the 60th percentile for weight and height wise she is 31 inches and in the 50th percentile. Her head circumference is in the 92nd percentile, WHOA, that girl has got a big brain :)

Other than the appointments our world has been pretty dull these last few days which is OK with me! With all the wind from the storms here the other night Gerrad is still doing "damage control" outside since our gazebo blew apart to smithereens and our fence got knocked over a week or two before this last storm and is waiting to be put back up. That poor guy can't seem to catch a break with "home improvement" projects!

I hope everyone is still praying for little Stellan as he is still in pretty critical condition. Please head over to MckMama's blog to keep up with the little guy.

Poor Macie! Hopefully they can get her all figured out! I had quite a few eye issues when I was little and I turned out ok :) And Miss Addaline...girl's an eater! Love it!
