Halloween... To Match or not to Match?

I'm going to apologize in advance for the plethora of pictures I'm adding to this post. Macie and I are having a heck of a time coming up with costumes for her and her sister. We can't decide if they're going to match and if so what do they want to be. These are the few things that we've come up with. For some reason Macie is on this kick to be Elvis, which I think would be super cute. Then in the next breath she says she wants her and Addaline to match so who knows?! I was trying to find cute things for Addaline to be if Macie ends up being Elvis and they don't match... but I'm LOVING the Super Hero costumes for the girls. What do you guys think?

I think is the cutest thing EVER and they actually have both the girls sizes in this costume so they'd match exactly
I thought it would be cute if Addaline was Super Girl and Macie was Bat Girl maybe?

This just made me laugh, SOOO adorable!

I love this costume from Old Navy, I admire it every year!

Here is the Elvis Macie would be if she ends up wanting to be him

This would be for Addaline, SO cute!

Another idea for Addaline if Macie wants to be Elvis

Captain America for Macie
Bat Girl for Macie
So which ones are your favorites? To match or not to match, that is the question?!

2 Special Birthday's and Hats

This weekend 2 of the most special people in my life celebrated their birthdays, Gerrad (28) on Friday the 25th and Addaline (2) on Sunday the 27th. Friday night we all loaded up in the car (I had pre packed every one's overnight bags) and headed towards Kansas City for a night of fun. We went to the Great Wolf Lodge for Gerrad and Addaline's birthday celebration. I'll post about our Great Wolf Lodge adventure sometime this week.

So Happy Birthday Gerrad... to the man that makes me strive to be a better person/wife/friend every day!! I love you!!

And Happy Birthday to sweet Addaline... who makes me strive to be a better mother/role model every day!! I love you!!

On to the hat portion of the post... I have a new mild addiction to these precious crochet hats for Miss Addaline. They are so stinkin cute with a huge flower hair clip on them or a huge bow that takes up half the hat...ADORABLE!!

See for yourself, aren't they just precious! I can't wait for Addaline to wear these all the time this fall with all her cutesy little dresses.

Sustained...

sus·tain (s-stn)
tr.v. sus·tained, sus·tain·ing, sus·tains
1. To keep in existence; maintain.
2. To supply with necessities or nourishment; provide for.
3. To support from below; keep from falling or sinking; prop.
4. To support the spirits, vitality, or resolution of; encourage.
5. To bear up under; withstand

Every Wednesday night for our youth group at church 'One Way' we've been singing a song called 'Sustained' by the group Everybodyduck. It struck a cord with me last night and has been on my mind ever since. About all the things I'm sustained by...

I'm sustained by knowing I have a God who will love me no matter what and forgives me for my past and anything I've done to sin against him in my daily life

I'm sustained by knowing that I have a husband who adores me and treats me the way a woman deserves to be treated, to be loved by someone who is truly my best friend

I'm sustained by knowing that I get to wake up every day to 2 beautiful blonde girls who call me their mother.... there is SO much hurt in the world and I feel truly blessed to have my 2 miracles
I'm sustained by knowing I have a roof over my head and food in my mouth any time I am hungry, another thing that SO many people don't even have in these tough economic times

There are so many things I could go on and on about, but when it comes down to it none of these things would be possible without God. Sometimes I question writing blog posts that are too 'preachy' or too spiritual, that's my own insecurities feeling like I'll offend someone or go too overboard. These past few years have been amazing for our family and I just can't help but be forever grateful to the one who created us all.

On another note... this weekend we have some really exciting things going on but I can't blog about it just yet in case my hubby reads this in the next 24 hours or so. I planned a SUPER fun over night trip for us tomorrow night for his birthday and for our soon to be 2 year old whose birthday is Sunday. I'll make sure and take LOTS of pictures and blog about it after this weekend.

Macie starts rehearsing for the Nutcracker this weekend as well and will be doing so every Saturday for the next 2 months. I'm so proud of my little ballerina for making the Nutcracker again this year, she is such a phenomenal dancer!

I hope everyone has a great weekend! Happy Birthday Gerrad and Addaline, I love you both SOO much!
